Psalm 45:1 NKJV

My heart is inditing theme. I write compositions concerning the King.

onja Lyn grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. After graduating from Columbia High School, she went off to Charlotte, North Carolina where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Johnson C. Smith University. T. Lyn relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana.  After working in banking for several years, she became certified in her field of education and taught for ten years in the New Orleans Public School System. Because of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, T. Lyn found herself back in Columbia, South Carolina.  She certified as an educator for the state of South Carolina and began teaching 6th Grade English/Language Arts in middle school.

In three short years, she then progressed on to becoming the school’s Literacy Coach; training teachers and presenting professional development to principals and administrators from across the state of South Carolina.  Feeling compelled by God, Tonja finally left the comforts of that coveted position and settled in the Atlanta area where she now resides.

uring her 15 plus years in New Orleans, T. Lyn took the steps to begin a serious, committed relationship with God under the teachings of Pastor R. C. Blakes, Jr. of New Home Family of Churches.   Under her pastor’s leadership, T. Lyn found her place in the Kingdom of God.  She began writing and performing poetry including props and music.  She progressed on to writing, producing and directing stage plays for the various New Orleans Family of Churches becoming labeled, by a popular Christian Radio personality, as “New Orleans Best Kept Secret”.

Tonja confirmed her gifts in the Kingdom by establishing “Ready Writer Ministries”.  After moving to the Atlanta area and enduring what she describes as her “in the belly of the whale experience” of the past seven years, Tonja has found her renewed place in God and is emerging with a focus on her purpose, re-inventing herself as T. Lyn Compositions.
