This message is about grounding the believer in the faith and belief that you walk with a Sovereign God that dwells with you and in you.  Therefore, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”  (Isaiah 54:17)  “All things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”  (Romans 8:28)  “No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” (Psalms 84:11)  Operating in these promises from God can make you look pretty “Super” to those around you.  I’m feeling pretty “Super” just telling you about it.  The scriptures tells us on many occasions that we have “super powers” and tells us how we get them and what they are for.  Let’s first start with knowing we have these “super powers” that the Bible speaks of.

Romans 8:11 New Living Translation (NLT)

11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

This scripture tells us that the SAME spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us.  That spirit that raised Jesus from the dead was the super power of the Holy Ghost.  Raising someone from the dead is some pretty powerful stuff.  Think about it.  In a dangerous situation, any, if not most of the decisions and responses from people, good and bad, are to make sure they don’t die.   That’s because the belief is that death is definite.  Imagine having someone living in you that can override that definite state.  Wouldn’t you feel powerful?

Acts 1:8  New Living Translation (NLT)

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Here we see that when the Holy Spirit comes, He brings His power with him.  He will come.  All you have to do is invite him.  It’s as simple as that.  Prepare yourself to receive the Holy Spirit.  Here is how.

Acts 2:38 New Living Translation (NLT)

38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is good.  He comes from God. God is good.  So, when we ask God for the Holy Spirit, we are asking for a good thing and we are asking for something God wants us to have.  God wants us to have good things because He is a good God.  Therefore, when ask God for the Holy Spirit, you will definitely get what you are asking for.

Matthew 7:9 New Living Translation (NLT)

9 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! 11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

Once you ask the Father for the Holy Spirit, KNOW that you have you powers.

2 Timothy 1:7 New Living Translation (NLT)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Did you see it?  God has given us a spirit of “Power”.  When you have the Holy Spirit, you have your power.  You have your “Super Powers” because the Holy Spirit is Power and He is Super.  He IS the Super Power.

You have “Super Powers” because you have the Holy Ghost.  You also have “Super Powers” because God gave his creation, mankind, authority over ALL things.  We don’t walk in this aspect of our authority because we don’t believe we have it.  Authority is power.  But, we don’t walk in this area of power because we don’t believe we have the authority God gave us.  Satan is still convincing us that he has the authority over us.  We don’t need him, he needs us.  We don’t have to be afraid of him, he needs mankind to do his bidding.  He’s still attempting to convince us to give up our authority.  Why?  Because HE knows WE STILL HAVE IT.  Satan is still convincing us to give up our authority, so we can suffer the consequences of our choice thereafter…just like in the Garden.  We still see the results of the circumstances; however, the authority was never revoked.  When God was dishing out the circumstance of Adam and Eve’s decision to eat of the forbidden fruit, not once did he say “You will no longer have the authority I gave unto you.”  Mankind STILL has the authority God gave us in the beginning at creation.  This is so because God is not fickle.  When He gives you something, he doesn’t take it back.  The gifts of God are irrevocable.

Psalm 8:4-6 New Living Translation (NLT)

what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?[
Yet you made them only a little lower than God[
and crowned them[
c] with glory and honor.
You gave them charge of everything you made,
putting all things under their authority—

Roman 11:29  New Living Translation (NLT)

29 For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.
